Lancashire hot pot – A perfect combination of great taste

Lancashire hotpot is a famous dish not only in UK but other parts of world as well. It is a kind of traditional dish made from lamb or mutton and onion, furnished with sliced potatoes that are left for baking in the oven all day in a heavy pot and on a low heat. The major benefit of preparing and consuming Lancashire hot pot is that it takes lesser time to prepare. You will find it in parties on a large basis because it is very easy to prepare for a large number of people and is comparatively inexpensive.

Although this dish is very popular, it has many regional variations. It is occasionally found listed among the usual pub grub dishes in hostelries around Britain. The base recipe is made from a mix made up of lamb, vegetables (carrot, turnip, potatoes, onion or leek) and then covered with sliced potatoes. You will find lamb kidneys sometimes in the Lancashire hot pot dish.
